The workshop offers training in the creation of original works of art and Raku pottery for groups of ten or more. Your course instructors, Lucie Arseno and Yvon Leclerc, are impassioned by art, shapes and shading. Light and colour hold no secrets from them! Several options are available for your convenience.

  • Balmy summer days spent with the group will enchant you. You may purchase the item of your choice, colour it to suit your fancy and then watch it fired in the tradition of the Petite école du rang. Your can also learn about glazing and Raku* firing.

*Raku is an ancient Japanese technique characterized by a soft, low fire
(750 to 980 degrees). The cracked appearance of these unique and original
pieces is the result of heat shock brought about by the technique.

  • Courses may last one or several weekends; the choice is yours. The purpose of the course is to allow you to create your very own works of art. You will be schooled in the entire process from the first clump of clay to the final glazing. At the end of your course, you will leave the Petite école du rang with your very own creation in your hands!

  • A to Z…We also offer a comprehensive pottery course lasting several weeks or months with schedules adapted to suit your needs. This course explores modelling and throwing on the potter's wheel. At the same time, you can savour the peace and quiet of a beautiful country setting.

  • Accommodation is offered on the premises. There is a cozy room nestled in the workshop attic where you may rest and benefit fully from your stay with us as you learn about throwing, glazing and firing techniques.
